We have worked as team members and team leaders within multinational corporations and leading-edge tech start-ups. Over the years we have had the privilege of being part of highly-effective teams, and have suffered the pain of being on teams that were dysfunctional. As we were working on a start-up that focused on measuring the emotions that inspire customer and employee experiences, we asked ourselves, "what really makes exceptional teams and team leaders different from the rest?" The drive to find an answer led to our research on human motivation, employee engagement, and team performance. Many late nights and a doctorate later, the results of that research uncovered the one habit that exceptional team leaders share – they build strong, trusting relationships by consistently closing experience–expectation gaps within their team and across other key relationships.
The inspiration and idea for Xmetryx emerged from that research. Xmetryx gives team leaders a set of easy to use, team relationship management tools that will help them to elevate the experience of their team members, deliver superior team performance, and improve the well-being of each team member.
Our purpose is to help the world build better teams. In doing so, we help leaders elevate the employee experience, creating positive energy that benefits the well-being of the people, their organization, and the communities in which they live.
As Xmetryx CTO, Elena is responsible for product design, leading the development team, and social media technology strategy. She brings a blend of product design and software development talent, along with an unrelenting focus on execution excellence to create an exceptional experience for Xmetryx TRM customers.
Elena began her career as employee number 16 at a software start-up, with responsibilities ranging from technical writing to operations. After the company’s acquisition by a Dutch multinational, she held various leadership roles focusing on both customer and technical areas of the business. Ultimately, Elena led the establishment of the Global Services organization, with responsibility for the experience of the company’s +10,000 customers. In addition, she led the design and development of the company’s first cloud-based product. Elena went on to co-found Inspiration Engine, a people analytics software start-up focused on creating better customer and employee experiences, and most recently Xmetryx.
Jeb’s passion is developing high-performance teams and improving the well-being of the people on them. His early roles on new product innovation teams in Europe and Japan began a career journey that has included GM / VP / CEO roles at companies ranging from Fortune 500 to VC backed start-ups. Jeb’s leadership experiences, along with participating in several exceptional leader development programs, were catalysts for his doctoral research into human motivation and team performance.
Jeb’s first book, The ONE Habit, provides leaders at all levels with practical, actionable ideas and tools that even the busiest teams can apply right away. He regularly writes about building effective teams and improving employee well-being on his blog, ONEHabit.blog, and is a Featured Contributor on BIZCATALYST360.COM.
