Every person, place, or idea has a story. This one started in 2008 but took seven years to coalesce into the idea that became Xmetryx. In between, we weathered the financial crisis, several personal crises, and then had the good fortune to start over in one of the most dynamic cities in the world—Singapore.
As we reflected on our experiences as team members and team leaders within multinational corporations and tech start-ups, we recounted the joys of the few times that we were part of an extraordinary team, and the pain of being on too many mediocre or dysfunctional ones.
The inspiration for Team Relationship Management (TRM) emerged from our experiences, and the voices of the thousands of employees encountered through studies and doctoral research; formal and informal discussions; and direct conversations with hundreds of team leaders. We co-designed Xmetryx TRM software and The TRM Workshop with team leaders from around the world.
Our purpose is to give leaders the tools and coaching to craft extraordinary teams. In doing so, we help elevate the employee experience, creating positive energy that benefits the well-being of the people, their organization, and the communities in which they live.
As Xmetryx CTO, Elena is responsible for product design, technology, and security, leading the development team, and a hodgepodge of other things (like social media technology strategy, finance, customer support, etc.). She brings a blend of product design and software development talent, along with an unrelenting focus on execution excellence, to create an exceptional experience for Xmetryx TRM customers.
Elena began her career as employee number 16 at a software start-up, with responsibilities ranging from technical writing to operations. After the company’s acquisition by a Dutch multinational, she held various leadership roles focusing on both customer and technical areas of the business. Ultimately, Elena led the establishment of the Global Services organization, with responsibility for the experience of the company’s +10,000 customers. In addition, she led the design and development of the company’s first cloud-based product. Elena went on to co-found Inspiration Engine, a people analytics software start-up focused on creating better customer and employee experiences, and most recently Xmetryx.
Jeb’s purpose (and passion) is to give leaders the coaching and tools to craft extraordinary teams—teams that deliver exceptional performance while providing experiences that enhance the quality of the lives of everyone on them.
His career journey began on new product innovation teams in Europe and Asia, and led to GM / VP and CEO roles at companies ranging from Fortune 500 to VC backed start-ups, as well as co-founding three software start-ups. In 2013, Jeb turned the joy and purpose he found in helping individual contributors become exceptional team leaders and people managers, into a full-time pursuit. He invested the next five years leading and working with teams at HP, and in parallel doing a deep dive into human motivation, employee engagement, and team effectiveness, earning a doctorate in the process. His work with teams led to his co-founding Xmetryx, a Team Relationship Management (TRM) software tools start-up, the creation of The TRM Workshop, and on-going research and writing on 21st-century team leadership.
Jeb’s writes regularly about team leadership on his blog The ONE Habit, and he is a Columnist and Featured Contributor for BIZCATALYST360°. His first book, The ONE Habit: The Ultimate Guide to Increasing Engagement & Building Highly-Effective Teams, is currently available on Amazon in paperback and ebook format. His second book, Team Relationship Management: The Art of Crafting Extraordinary Teams, will be published mid-2019.
